The mission of Dickenson County Public Schools is to provide a safe, nurturing environment to educate and inspire students to become lifelong learners and to encourage intellectual, social, and physical growth in a diverse and changing society.

This DCPS Mission statement is implemented in each school through belief statements reflecting the uniqueness of the school, its students, and community.

Dickenson County Public Schools, as required by the Code of Virginia, reviews and revises its division-wide comprehensive, unified, long-range plan biennially.  The Dickenson County School Board is currently collecting and analyzing data that will be utilized to improve classroom instruction and student achievement.  Information regarding the progress of developing the plan will be posted on this website, including a copy of the plan and announcements of meetings related to solicitation of public comment.
