All of these pictures make you think of true production agriculture, however there are other parts to the agriculture field. The one large area we focus on is natural resources with an emphasis on forestry & wildlife.
Foundations of Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources (Ag 1) - this class is an introduction to agriculture. Covers the following topics: natural resources, animals, plants, food science & safety, leadership, FFA history, shop safety, woodwork, soldering, ropework, cold & hot metalwork. Intro to Natural Resources (8040) (10th - 12th grade) - this is an introductory class to natural resources. Covers wildlife, soils, forestry, & water quality. Fish & Wildlife Management (8041) (11th & 12th grade) - this class focuses on fish & wildlife managment. Identification, habitats & management of mammals, amphibians, reptiles, birds, fish (both fresh &salt). Forestry Management (8042) (11th & 12th grade) - this class focuses on forests & forest management. This will also be offered as a dual enrollment option for college credit. We will study various forest systems, logging, management, diseases & insects. |
