Greetings from Clintwood Elementary School!

Principal

 Mrs. Janie Vanover

jvanover@dickenson.k12.va.us

Our school is located in the town of Clintwood, Virginia in Dickenson County. There are approximately 480 students enrolled in grades Pre-K through Fourth grade. We are fortunate to have a large modern building situated on a beautiful campus.

We consider the relationship between home and school to be a vital part of our students’ educational success. Therefore, we encourage parents to visit our school, join the P.T.A., and volunteer at various school functions.

The administration, faculty, and staff value each student as a unique individual and strive to promote a caring environment conducive to producing students who will be prepared both academically and socially to enter middle school.
Our academic curriculum focuses on the Virginia Standards of Learning, and we are proud of the fact that we are a “fully accredited” school. To promote social responsibility and caring within our school we follow a character education program of "bucket filling" based on the book Have You Filled a Bucket Today by Carol McCloud.
We believe that by providing a sound developmentally appropriate educational program, that concentrates on each child as a learner and school citizen, we will continue to find success. Clintwood Elementary School students are truly “Learners today and Leaders Tomorrow”.
